The Evaporative Emission Purge Pump is used to purge stored vapors from the Evaporative Emission Canister and is required to increase the purge volumes to meet LEV 3 Evaporative Emission requirements. The Engine Control Module (ECM) monitors the Evaporative Emission Purge Pump, and the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will be set when the EVAP Purge Pump Speed is greater than 240 RPM when commanded off for greater than 5 s.
