  • 2010 explorer 4x4 4.0, was driving and making left turn, engine revved up to 2500rpm and drive train light (yellow wrench) came on. Got it home, 3/4 of a mile, hooked up tester and got 1 code doing ford keoe test, p1464. And got another code doing ford koer test, p1001.

    The thing is I just had the transmission replaced a week and a half ago. The p1464 is some thing for the a/c unit and the p1001 is a non completed test...

    Could the p1464 have something to do with the transmission or could my pcm be going haywire?

  • I know, it's been awhile. I cleared the code out of the system. And drove around normal like for a few days...more like a couple weeks. Drove over to a co-workers place, parked in his drive, chatted a few minutes and went to move the explorer... no starter crank. Buddy had a spare battery, so we swapped it out. Engine started fine, drove up to the parts store and purchased a new battery, dropped it in and haven't had an issue since.
    Battery voltage was just enough to run the engine but alternator and weak battery were not enough voltage to run all the sensors and the engine. This low voltage issue was just enough so as to trick the pcm to throw out codes for sensors that required an "x" amount of current. Tossing codes that showed a low current return.
    New battery seems to have been the bandaid needed.
