The canister control vacuum check switch is installed in the vacuum line between EVAP canister purge control solenoid valve and EVAP canister purge control valve (built into EVAP canister). The switch detects vacuum signal to the EVAP canister purge control valve and send an "ON" or "OFF" signal to the ECM. When no vacuum is supplied to the valve, the canister control vacuum check switch sends and "ON" signal to the ECM. When vacuum is supplied to the valve, canister control vacuum check switch sends "OFF" signal to the ECM.
The canister control vacuum check switch is not used to control the engine system. It is used only for on board diagnosis.
