Code P1424 GMC Description
The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) actuator is used to adjust the exhaust gas recirculation inside the intake manifold so that the appropriate exhaust quantity can be mixed with the intake air. The Engine Control Module (ECM) transmits the desired position of the EGR pintle lift as a power signal to the EGR actuator. The EGR position is monitored by an internal position sensor. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will be set when the ECM detects an over temperature condition on the EGR actuator driver for a time greater than 1 s.
