P1111 2003 Nissan Altima Sedan Code - Intake Valve Timing Control Solenoid Valve Circuit Bank 1
Quick Answer
The intake valve timing control solenoid valve is activated by ON/OFF pulse duty (ratio) signals from the Engine Control Module (ECM). Common causes include Faulty Intake Valve Timing Control Solenoid Valve Bank 1, Intake Valve Timing Control Solenoid Valve Bank 1 harness is open or shorted, Intake Valve Timing Control Solenoid Valve Bank 1 circuit poor electrical connection. Severity is High - diagnose this code as soon as possible. Driving is not recommended if the warning light is flashing, the engine runs poorly, or safety-related symptoms are present.

Code P1111 2003 Nissan Altima Sedan Description
The longer pulse width advances the valve angle. The shorter pulse width retards the valve angle.
When ON and OFF pulse widths become equal, the solenoid valve stops oil pressure flow to fix the intake valve angle at the control position.
The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) when an improper voltage is sent to the ECM through the intake valve timing control solenoid valve.

Put a new timing chain on my 2003 nissan altima now car wont start p1111 code comes up any suggestions
-
Why did you change the timing chain? for the same problem? if you Altima didn't have any problem starting before, the timing it's probably wrong.
-
Took car to nissan and they told me it needed a new chain I lined up all the markings and still nothing . If the intake timing valve solenoid is bad would that cause it not to start?
-
The car wouldn't start before and nissan told me it was because timing was off.
-
The timing chain probably wasn't the problem and I never seen a faulty intake timing valve solenoid causing a no start problem.
-
Ok thank you I have been working on this for awhile now im good with cars but this one has me stumped . Nissan told me it was getting gas and spark and thats the only code that comes up so I was looking for help and that does help so I will keep investigating . Thanks!

my 2003 Nissan Altima is having the same problem and it brought up to code P 1111 what happens is when it starts you could drive it for hours and it runs real good but when you turn it off it won't start no more after sitting for a few hours and when I came to find out if it's because the cylinders flooded with gas so what you got to do is take all your spark plugs clean it out real good and it started all over again and I'll start we still have to change timing
solenoid oh is that the problem
