I've been through every thread that I can find and found the IMRC valve assembly (or rotary assembly I've seen it called) to not be holding vacuum. I replaced the assembly (new solenoid came with it) and reset the code. The code will clear when driving but anytime the engine starts, it will come back. I went back through troubleshooting, testing the vacuum signal, electrical signals, and that the new assembly is holding vacuum. I'm stumped. The only next step I can find is to have the ECU programming reflashed, but that's not a guarantee from what I've read. I'd appreciate any help that anyone can give. I know very little about cars and am just getting in to maintaining my own (baby on the way and I can't afford to pay other people to work on it for me...plus I've always wanted to learn). Thanks

  • MJ it's July 4, 2020, my check engine light and code reading is P1077 on 2002 CR-V has been on for 2 years. The local dealer said the 1077 code meant my car needed a new timing chain, which I dispute.
    I changed the IMRC solenoid valve, Honda part 36163-PND-A01. Light still on.
    It could still need the IMRC sensor and a cleaning if the IMRC itself
