replaced the motor on my 2013 Malibu this august drove it 1000 miles and had it serviced and oil changed at the end of august 2 weeks later the tension locked up and took out the serpentine belt. I just had this replaced 10 months ago so they replaced it for free every since then I get error codes P0AC4 and P0A90 they still can't figure it out . my ? is when that serpentine belt blew apart what did it hit under the hood did it pinch a wire to give faulty readings did it hit a connector? I don't know, any info would help because the dealers ship it is at doesn't have a clue. Thanks
-
There is a factory service bulletin for the P0A90 code, the bulletin indicates that the dealer have to contact the factory engineers for further instructions. It looks like the tensioner will cause the belt to snap and may have damage the Motor Generator Unit (MGU). My only recommendation at this point is to have the dealer contact the factory. Ask the dealer to check for bulletins, they shouldn't charge you for that.
