I have an 05 Cherokee with the 944 code, vehicle doesn't move in reverse at all and third works only when the rpm's are bumped up. I changed the filter and fluid as per tsb but still nothing. Any other ideas?

Was there any debris on the pan? At this point the next step is to check foe transmission fluid pressures. I recommend having a transmission shop check that for you.
