my van will lose power everything else works i.e. lights, radio, air, it is even still running and will move very slowly on it's own but when you push on the gas it doesn't do anything. Sometimes it will do this and then after pushing on the gas a few times it will start working right again. Then sometimes it won't and all the guages will jump back and forth and it will die, then when you try to restart it acts like a dead battery. This happened right after I bought it and the car lot I bought it from told me it was the alternator and fixed that and it seemed to fix the problem but now it has started again. Advanced Auto told my husband that the battery was fine. We got this code P0882 so does anyone know what I should do to completely fix this problem.

My vehicle is a 2006 Nissan Maxima SE automatic 3.5....i did not have any warning signs that my transmission was going to go out at all...Usually gears stall and jerk when the transmission goes out .I was driving my Car w no problems at all when suddenly my car would no longer move and hitting the gas pedal only revved up the engine but I completely lost a power to all gears ...do you believe that the suggestions above are also the prob w my vehicles malfunction? That code did come up when my.mechanic diagnosed it.!
