Discuss the causes and fixes for P0845 Nissan OBDII Code

  • I have seen one used 2008 Nissan Altima which I want to buy. But, the fire stone report said that transmission pressure fluid sensor is not working. Should I buy the car ? or what else I should consider?

  • All depends of the price, but to diagnose/fix the problem, you (or your mechanic) may have to remove the transmission pan and test/replace some of the components. For example if you have to replace the transmission valve body (which is very possible) , the price to replace the valve body is over $1500. My suggestion, don't buy the Sentra.

  • My car is a 2007 nissan sentra and has the code P0845. It has been shifting funny and struggles to acelerate sometimes any ideas on what it could be?

  • Unfortunately, most of the time the problem is the transmission assembly. Sometimes the problem is the Transmission Valve Body, but the cost to replace the Valve Body is as high as to replace the transmission assembly. My suggestion is to have a transmission shop inspect the transmission for you.
