This fault is related to one or two ATF sensors near the Torque Converter Solenoid. It's best to change the input sensor first, clear the fault codes and take it for a spin to see if the code remains clear; if not, replace the output sensor too. The parts are inexpensive and not difficult to replace. If these fail to clear the fault code, look to a more serious issue. The EATX Relay in the engine fuse box can also cause a fault code in the AT. It is rare for them to fail, but nothing is impossible. The P0845 code is specially for an open circuit in one of the ATF sensors. .

If the input and/or output speed sensors don't cure it (they aren't expensive), then the Torque Converter Solenoid is the problem in the fluid pistons... it will require replacement. (Prices range between $150-200.) An easy job for the DIY enthusiast requiring only a torx tool, a std ratchet, and a safety razor blade to remove the old gasket completely. A long clear hose about the diameter of a straw is also helpful to remove any gasket remnants that may have gotten down into the fluid passageways in the transmissions. (I interconnected straws myself and sucked out the bits.)

Do you know a better name for these solenoids, my parts store doesn't recognize these names?

I also have a code P0845, my truck will abruptly kick out of overdrive at which point I lose 1st gear and overdrive and have to manually shift from 2nd to 3rd and vice versa.

This is a typical one... you'll to order the correct one for your Chrysler Automatic Transmission. Get some Simple Green and a toothbrush and clean up the area very well before talking the old one off. Get a safety razor blade and scrape the old gasket off w/o scratching the metal flange. Use a long tube to suck out the holes where any gasket bits may have fallen. (Cleanliness is the key here.) http://www.ebay.com/itm/TRA...

Oil light on, had computer read for code. Can't remember number of code, but said it was oil pressure sensor, ordered part, viewed videos on how to and seem so easy, is not. I have a 2008 Dodge avenger 2.4L engine, I also ordered the transmission pressure sensor, to have everything that replaced to make sure that oil light turns off, seeming that the light indicates fluid pressure and not fluid level. Found the oil pressure sensor, hard to get to, believe I would have to either remove alternator or I'm guessing it's the a/c compressor to get to it. Haven't spotted the transmission sensor since don't know where to start looking for that yet, but on videos seems I gotta take off a bunch of parts to get to. They make it seem so simple, but so not.
