Hi Its so well explained. I am happy with the guidance. But what exactly could cause the gear to miss behave and sometimes landing into limp mode "gear number 3" when demanding for higher performance say, like kickdown on various moments. This is after I have renewed the transmission oil and also had the oil filter changed. All solenoids cleaned well checked also for triggers during power supply. And ensured all electrical connections were good.

Hi I have a 2007 Ford Fusion SE 2.3 Litre. I have engine code PO753. The car will not shift higher than the 3rd gear. I changed the trans fluid, filter, and all of the solenoids and it still will not work. Please let me know what else to try,

Thank you for your quick response. I have cleared the codes and drove it today around town. It shifts from 1st to 2nd and to 3rd but no higher. I put the scanner back on and it gave me the P0753 code again. I replaced the solenoids with rebuilt units on ebay. What are the odds I put in a faulty Shift solenoid A?

Just an update. I went to the used parts dealers and picked up a used 2006 2.3 litre Fnr5 Transmission Control Module for my 2007. Got home plugged it in and it works better than before. I appreciate your help on this. Hopefully it helps someone else.
