Wow..this is a great starting place, thanks so much for creating this. (I have the P0751 fault) I have no idea what the fix will be, but looking at the possible causes, I would have to say it's the 2nd point, "Dirty transmission fluid". The car is a 1996 Suzuki Sidekick JX 4x4 auto and has 130K miles, 40K of these are from being towed behind an RV (Previous owner). When I bought the car I knew the transmission fluid was dirty so I had it changed along with the filter, but I did NOT change out the torque converter fluid as I've read that could cause slippage.
The check engine light came on about 4 days ago and I took it into my local tire/repair shop and they said to take it to a transmission place as they didn't have the expertise to fix it. So I made an appointment for tomorrow, however, this morning when I started it up, the check engine light was gone! So funny.
One thing I'm not sure of if it's slipping or not. I will say I feel a 'surging' sort of thing. As I'm driving at a constant speed I can feel the car surge forward then back as I drive along.
BTW: After the engine light came on, for some reason I thought maybe I should push that A/T switch (POWER light illuminates when toggled on) and drive in that mode for a while. It seemed to drive fine, lots of power and I'm just not 100% sure if the surging is gone or not. I will attempt to be more observant on my way home tonight.
