  • I had the same issue, couldn't shift from park without bypassing interlock, the fuse was good, so I verified that the lights & wiring were good by removing the brake switch connector and jumping the
    leads.....that checked out so that told me it was definitely the switch.

    I removed the switch and opened it up and noticed that the connection pads were corroded, I carefully removed the leads with needle-nose pliers and removed the corrosion with a very fine file, put it back together taking care not to bend the leads and now I'm up and running. Brake lights work fine, I can now shift properly ...... total time to repair (once problem isolated) was about 20 minutes
