The sub-CPU converts (A/D conversion) the supplied power voltage and outputs the A/D converted value to the main CPU via serial communication. The main CPU monitors the PCM internal 5 V power supply by comparing it with the received value (comparison power supply voltage (3.3 V)) from the sub-CPU. When the 5 V power supply is normal, the comparison power supply voltage (3.3 V) falls within a normal area. If the 5 V power supply malfunctions, the comparison power supply voltage (3.3 V) exceeds the range of normal area.
