Code P0661 2003 Honda CR-V Description

Engine power is achieved by closing and opening the Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) valve. When the valve is closed, there is high torque at low engine speed. When the valve is open, there is high torque a high engine speed.
The Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) valve position sensor is mounted on the IMRC valve shaft and detects an IMRC valve position. The IMRC valve position sensor includes the brush that moves with the IMRC valve, and it has a linear signal output in relation to the IMRC valve position when sliding on the board. The Engine Control Module (ECM) monitors the IMRC valve position sensor voltage which represents the IMRC valve position. If the output voltage from the IMRC valve position sensor is higher than a set value, a malfunction is detected and a DTC is stored.
