My kia sportage (2001) tried to die the other day when I turned on the head lights. Then a few days later it sputtered and died on the highway. I replaced the alternator. The old one tested bad. So I have charged the battery for a few hours now and it still pulling 5 amps so the battery was pretty well dead but is kinda weird because I pulled off the charger and it starts right up no problem but the check engine light is still on. Will this light stay on untill the battery is fully charged? The code I got from the obd reader was p0560 so I'm hoping I don't have to replace the main relay. (Is this main relay a part I have to get from the dealer since autozone doesn't carry it?)
