I have a 2005 Ford 500 Limited. The fuel gauge does not work at all. I brought it into the shop and I was quoted $600 to fix. Also I was told that I have to replace the whole fuel pump because the gauge is built into the fuel pump. I did not know that there is 2 fuel pumps on it, so how do I know which one to replace? I looked on the internet and came up with just the sending unit and that was NOT connected to the fuel pump assembly, it is a separate part. So, then by doing some more research, I found that it is an absolute part. So, with that being said, how would a person hook up the connection so that the gas gauge would work if it's separate from the fuel pump?
