engine code p0340 on grand cherokee 2002 4.7l 8 cyl.appeared,replacing camshaft sensor was not enough .i had to change also the crankshaft sensor at the same time ,then its ok now.

on above comment,the occasion was used to clean both mail & female electrical connectors in engine compartment using CRC contact cleaner ,perhaps those issues are interrelated while one or more could have been the real cause .
