We have. A 2007 V6 Fusion. I had a bad coil issue 5000 mile ago. I had the computer board successfully repaired, replaced all the plugs, coils and intake manifold gaskets. The car has run well until last night, the coldest night of the year thus far.
I developed a skip upon starting the engine, which grew worse when the engine was under a load, meanwhile a P0301 code presented, first with a solid check engine light, which started flashing when the load increased.
I've added fuel treatment to rule out water contamination in the fuel due to condensation. Since the #1 cylinder is on the back side of the engine, I cannot easily check other issues specific to #1 without removing the intake manifold.
Are there any other tests I can do at this point that may resolve the issue, such as isolating a manifold leak, before proceeding with removing the intake manifold to replace the #1 plug and coil?
