Code P0300 Infiniti Description

When a misfire occurs, engine speed will fluctuate. If the engine speed fluctuates enough to cause the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor signal to vary, the Engine Control Module (ECM) can determine that a misfire is occurring. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will be set when the Engine Control Module monitors the crankshaft speed and has detected a misfire condition

Discuss the causes and fixes for P0300 Infiniti OBDII Code

  • Great details to correct hesitation (usually 3 tries) to start my 2001 Infiniti QX4.

  • Same problem here. Runs great cold. When at normal operatimg temp and accelerating the QX4 seems to lag. what I mean is it kinda surges. It's like you have power then you don't then you do, then you don't and so on and so on. It does have power. At idle it misses bad but revs perfect and idles at 750 like it should, but the cil flashes. I know that's bad so I avoid red lights. When the cil flashes raw fuel enters the cat and sooner or later if not fixed it will melt you cat converter. Sometimes the cil will go out on its on if I can avoid having to set at a red light or in traffic where it has to idle for a few driving cycles. New plugs, factory Nissan distributor, plug wires, throttle body gasket, upper plenum gasket.Checked fuel pressure all good. Also when setting the timing @ 15 BTD it idles rough but when I turn the distributor and advance the timing it runs a lot better. Why???? Ive been chasing this code for a year now. I also cleaned the fuel rail and the injectors. I noticed on the injectors that 3 on 1 side have the same numbers on them and the other side have different numbers but all three have the same.HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Have you checked if the catalytic converters are already damage? From what you explained, sounds like the cats are bad. One indication is that only happens when the engine is warm up.

  • hello, with me it is like that: after starting the car, everything seems to be ok. When increasing the idle speed also. The problem starts when I go around 3000-5000 rpm then. min the "check engine" lamp lights up and blinks. Feel that the car breaks and finally goes into emergency mode. In emergency mode the ignition does not fall out (oddly), but rpm goes only to 3500.
    Replaced:
    -at catalysts
    -4 lambda probe
    - evap filter (leak was)

I am slowly running out of ideas ... please help

  • What model and year is your Infiniti?
Sounds like you may have a problem with the fuel injectors. You could try using a fuel injector cleaner or high octane gas for a couple of weeks to see if that make any difference.
