This problem's been haunting me for a few months now and I finally found the fix. Along with fault code P0174 I also had P1166 & P1167 O2 sensor bank 1 & 02 sensor bank 2, fuel pressure regulator / fuel pump bad? List of items changed: 02 sensor's on bank 1 & 2 ,air filter, (MAF) Mass air flow sensor, (IAC) inlet air controller, fuel pump assembly, fuel pressure regulator. After replacing all these items which had set me back over $1000 The problem still existed and my car still had the hiccups and died at idle. So I decided to try yet another MAF but this time an OEM part from the dealership. $150 not cheap but a friend told me that when it comes to automotive electronics always use OEM parts. I installed the new MAF and now it's running smoothly. I might add that all the parts that I replaced were bought on the internet. I tried to save money but in the end I ended spending more than I needed.

I've replaced all parts from the dealership besides the fuel items recommended. The light is still on after 5 years. The light started coming on the week I bought the car. The dealership gave up on helping me find the problem after 4x's or so of bringing it in. Every year I have to trick the inspection people in order to pass inspection. Today I took it to a different mechanic,it's been to 6 different ones, and they said nothing is wrong with the vehicle. But the check engine light still keeps staying on. This is so frustrating!!!! 2007 Hyundai Tucson
