We have a 2004 F150 with the 5.4 triton engine
We purchased it at a115,000 miles and it has ben a pain ever since
I was going to pass a car and when I mashed the foot pedal to the floor ,I got that surge of power and as I passed the car I felt a miss and then the engine light came on
I thought it may be a coil as I have had to replace them once already
I find it is a code PO171 and 174.
You can feel a slight surge and miss as well as hesitation
The odd part of this is my gas consumption has gone down
It was consistent at 14.8 to 15.2 and after this it is now at a consistent 16.1 to 16.4
We have checked it on 1000 mile drives as well as 100 mile drives both with the auto check in the truck and doing it the old way with pen and pad
