I originally got a code P0430 and P0300. Replaced spark plugs, coil packs, fuel pump. Now I get a P0101 code. I cleaned the MAF and replaced the air filter, MAF sensor and PVC valve. The vehicle starts up right away and will run as long as I keep my foot on the pedal and rpm above 1500. Engine dies as soon as I take my foot off the pedal and try to idle. What else should I be looking at?

Unfortunately, other than the MAF, I have not seen any other component setting the P0101 code. I checked a national database of repairs for your model year, and besides the MAF, there are a couple of vehicles that got fixed by reprogramming the ECM and couple of more by replacing the PCV valve. Had the air filter changed and code reset. Didn't work. replaced the sensor (original) and light came back (day after) on when I was on the freeway at 50 miles and RPM was going from 3 to 2 and back up. Code still shows P0101. (Nissan Versa 2012)

Called the dealer and they're charging me $130 to run diagnostic first before the reprogramming. Fingers crossed it'll be the end of my headaches. -
Before you take it to the dealer, try one more thing. There is a wire screen between the MAF and the air filter, make sure that screen is clean and there is no debris obstructing the air flow,

So took it to my mechanic they checked just as you advised. Still showing the code :(
Dealer says then need to run a diagnostic before to make sure its nothing else before they can update the software. Diagnostic is 130$. Updating software is also $130.
What do you suggest? Should I allow diagnostic or just go straight to software update? -
Took my Nissan versa to the dealer. They reprogrammed the ECM. Ran better but engine light came back on

I'm really sorry that didn't fixed the problem. Unfortunately other than the MAF and reprogramming the ECM I have not seen anything else setting the P0101 code. I checked a national database of repairs for your model year, and besides the things you have already done, there were a couple cases where the problem was the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Valve and another was a dirty throttle body.
Also make sure your mechanic check for any intake leaks. -
