So... help please.
I cleaned the MAF, no dice. I replaced the sensor... no dice, the code is back and now I am experiencing a slow reaction/acceleration and the RPM dips real low when at a stop light. However, my MPG has gone from 17MPG back to 32MPG.I have read about doing a seafoam cleaning as well as this being a reoccurring issue that is potentially fixable by reprogramming the ECM through the dealership.
Any advice/recommendation on my next move would be greatly appreciated.

Other than the MAF, I have not seen any other components triggering the P0101 code. There is factory service bulletin that recommend reprogramming the Engine Control Module (ECM) but when there are no driveability problems.

So I looked closer and found that the air intake hose was cracked. I missed it on my first inspection and I have replaced the part. In the mean time my mpg has dropped back to 19mpg. Is it possible that the new sensor I put in could be soiled already, or is this potentially something else.
Also I still have lots to learn so I'll just ask... What do you mean by "factory"

"Factory" parts are the Nissan brand parts (or the brand of whatever vehicle you may have). Usually you buy the factory parts at the dealer, but some auto parts shops can also have some factory parts.
