Remove and inspect the gas cap. Check the seal for cracks, flattening, dirt, or damage. Reinstall and tighten it fully.
Expected result
The gas cap should seal tightly and the rubber seal should be clean and flexible.
If Pass
Continue to Step 2.
If Fail
Replace the gas cap if the seal is damaged, weak, missing, or the cap does not tighten correctly.
