I have a 2007 Dodge Durango it has the 5.7 hemi in it. I have a P3449 Cylinder 7 Deactivation/Intake Valve Ctrl Circ/Open.
I have done some research and this is what I have done to no avail. I did an oil change even though I always put the correct 5w-20 full synthetic oil in it. I then tore out the entire intake manifold and got to the engine where there are 4 solenoids that are part of the MDS (multi displacement system). again that didn't work. It was at this point where I took it to a mechanic to diagnose the problem and he said he's 85% sure that it's the PCM computer. I spent over $300 for this particular diagnostic to get an 85% answer. The last thing I did was a test I switched the ignition coil from cylinder 7 and cylinder 6 to see if the code would change to a P3441 which is exactly the same as the code above except it refers to cylinder 6 and not 7. Again it didnt work. Is there any way to be 100% sure? Are there any other suggestions other than getting more diagnostics done?

i have th same code on the same suv.this is my second durango first was a 2006 now i got 2007.i replaced the mds in cyl7 like the code said and it fixed it.i now have the samre code for my 2007.i am goin to do the same replace the mds on cyl 7.i hope it fixs the problem.im burning way to much fuel. did you replace the MDS in your durango.are you burning lots more fuel?
