Code P1550 Toyota Description

The power generation voltage variable control enables fuel consumption to be decreased by reducing the engine load which is caused by the power generation of the generator. The battery current sensor built into the Generator Control ECU assembly detects the amount of charge/discharge current. The Generator Control ECU assembly sends voltage generation instructions to the generator assembly based on this signal. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will be set when the difference between the maximum and minimum current values of the battery current sensor is less than 1 A for 10 seconds or more with the ignition switch ON.
