Now I don't know what to do..I've spent over $1,000.00 and still got a problem.
-
i have replaced plugs, changed around coils, and have got a new crank angle sensor and still shows a fault on number 4 on the primary circuit,i just took out old sensor and put in new one the same way as i took out old one,i have a 1997 nissan skyline gtr r33 rb26 and really need help to sort this
-
you need to change the coil and clear the code with a ob2 scanner the code would remain until cleared
-
This code is often caused by high resistance in the ignition coil circuit. If coils are OK and the problem persist, then more than likely the problems are the wires from the Engine Control Module (ECM) and the ignition coils.
-
yes I have replaced some of them through the years, I am a mechanic and this is a personal vechicle, we have this issue each year before time to buy tags and inspect. Love the ride and drive but is there anything else I can do? This gets expensive even at my cost?
-
The main reason the ignition coils fails, if that's what are you referring to, is bad ground circuit. All Nissan vehicles are known to have bad grounds. You should add some ground wires from the negative battery terminal to the body at different points.
-
I am trying to find the sensor but I am having a hard time finding it. Can someone help me locate this sensor?
-
hi,
i got the same code and i have checked all the coils and they seem to be fine. however, i thought of checking the fuel pressure and when starting the car the pressure gauge shows that the pressure is at 60 psi but the it drops gradually causing the car to have a problem of starting up. Any ideas? i forgot to mention that the problem that i face is the difficulty of starting the car hence i need to try starting i like 3 to 4 times and then it runs. -
What model and year is your Nissan?
The P1320 code is definitely not related to the fuel pressure, but the hard start is related to the fuel pressure. It's possible that the fuel pump is loosing pressure when the engine is turn off. You may need to replaced the fuel pump. -
It is a 2001 Nissan Maxima. if the problem is really from the fuel pump so why do you think my Launch x431 is showing me this code and that the problem is from the coils. Whereas it didn't show any other codes so do you have any ideas about this matter.
-
You may have two problem. The fuel pump may be causing the hard start problem and loosing pressure, and the ignition coil causing the P1320 code.

I have a 1999 infiniti q45 and replaced all the ignit coils and still get a p1320 code?? Help
Help
-
I changed all 6 ignition coils, and spark plugs on my 2001 Nissan Pathfinder...still getting he p1320 code, HELP!!
-
Usually the coils will fix the problem. Did you use new factory coils? but if the coils are factory, then the problem is either the Engine Control Module (ECM) or the wires from the ECM to the coils.
-
I have the same code on my 97 pickup, coil is built into the dist so I replaced the dist, same symptoms.....replaced crank sensor......still the same........there is a small resistor in the wiring harness I have read about on other sites, should I try that?
-
The P1320 code means that the Engine Control Module (ECM) is not receiving the signal from the distributor. The resistor is not common, but it should be your next step.
-
did u git r dun? was the resistor the problem? i cannot see how but maybe it is cracked or unresistant? cumbak! my quest is doing all's the same kinda things,i believe am gona put Ina ground block direct to the battery. then run a bunch of ground wires? im positive that the problem is with grounds!
-
I have a 2000 maxima with an injector pulse problem. I have new coils,,ecm. and new ground wires as well. I still have the code p1320. Now what do I do,
-
I have a 2000 sentra.Had a #4 cly misfire,replaced the coil cleared the code-the car runs and starts fine,now I have a p1320 code.Read about the resistor problems..should that be my next step??Thanks.
-
Did you use a factory ignition coil? after market coil could have a high resistance which could cause the P1320 code.
-
would using aftermarket ignition coils with a higher resistance cause any damage or problems other than the p1320 code that I am getting? 2000 sentra
-
I have never seen coils with higher resistance causing any other problems other than the P1320 code.
-
I have a nissan terrano giving me a code ignition signal primary what may be the cause and need to be replaced?
-
I'm taking mine into the shop tomorrow for the same thing, I'll let you know what they find.
-
hello there i have a 1997 nissan altima 2.4 liter with code p130 , we change ignition coil , crank sensor, ignition coils, computer i still can make it even crank , whats the next step that we should do or look for ? is there anyway that can someone upload the complete diagram for this particular car ?
-
I have the code P1320, this code can tell me which coil is fail? I have a trouble when i'm in normal rpm around 750rpm and sometimes going down around 500 and the motor do a sound like hit or somethink like that could be this code the problem?
-
What model and year is your Nissan? The P1320 code means that one or more coils are failing, most people replace all coils at the same time. You could try replacing one coil at time.
-
I HAVE a 2006 skyline GT 250.Could you please tell me where power transistor and Ignition system condenser.
-
The power transistor is built inside the ignition coil, and the ignition coils are on top of the spark plugs.
-
Unfortunately there are many things that can cause that problem. You could start by checking if you get fuel and spark at the engine. Also, Is the security light solid ON? if it is, then you may have a problem with key.
-
I have a 1995 Nissian Altima stick shift,with about 196,xxx . I had a problem and actually
Continue to have the problem with the distributor . I would advise all you before you go wasting money and easy check to see if you have the same problem I still have . Take your distributor off which is located where your spark plugs connect to from the engine . Take the two bolts out that attach it to the engine . Advise take a picture of where spark plug wires go so can look as reference when putting back . Now when you take it off if you see oil there is your problem once you car heats up the oil heats up the distributor causing it to not fiction. So this is why your car will start and shut off. Advise if u find its this problem to install factory distributor directly from Nissian . This is why my problem still occurs I did not do this so every 6 months I replace my distributor seeing it has a lifetime warranty . But I would advise this it's easy but annoying . And also check the connector that attaches to the bottom of the distributor know as the control position sensor connector which you can only get by purchasing the entire wire harness or going to a junk yard and finding it on a car and splicing wires not the position of the wires on the connector . Hope this helps . -
Hello I have Nissan sentra 2001 the cod problem is p1320 , I changed the coils but the cod pop up again
Do you think is the ecm? -
Yes, I checked the cabels, the volts and the signal, in the first two coils is negative millivolts but in the other two is +, after couple minutes change to +
-
I haven't seen any ECM giving that problem. Only things I have seen that could trigger the P1320 code are ignition coils and poor ground. The ground wires for the ignition coils are on the back of the intake.
-
I just got my car back from mechanic. I have had my 2000 Nissan Maxima since 2003. Coil issues in the past fixed but service engine light never goes off. No mechanic can seem to get it to. I have replaced all coils twice about 2 1/2 years ago. I started to have the same symptoms misfires etc. Today car had all spark plugs changed (came back running worse), thorough check for vaccuum leaks found a slit and changed pcv valve. Ran better but still light on. Then mass air flow sensor service engine light still on) and since They previously thought it was O2 sensor and I had tge part already I asked them to replace that to see if codes clear and light goes off. They said it did drove a few times eventually come on with Ignition Signal Prinary code. Idol is fine. I do hear a high pitch noise only when I am accelerating (totally unrelated?) What now??? I read many comments but since this issue is familar I mean I am getting really frustrated. Please based on above can you suggest the next step. Today he cleared code I drove as soon as I restarted car the service engine light came on we ran codes again. Same code Ignition Signal Primary. The most reliable part on my car is "the service engine light" it could be on fire and that light would still glow red on my dash lol. Help!!
-
First of all, are you using new factory coils? there are some really bad aftermarket ignition coils out there. Before replacing any more parts try adding a ground wire between the battery negative cable to the engine. The battery ground connects to all components through the battery ground connection to the body, but sometimes that ground can built some corrosion and the poor ground can decrease the life of some electronic components.
-
Team, please I have code 305 and 1320. I know replacing the coil should fix the issue but have try to swap the coil with that of cylinder 3 but still showing 305. Please what else can I check.
A quick help will be much appreciated, thanks guys. -
Thanks, I have even change the plug in 5th cylinder some couple of hours ago but still same. I really need some more place I can check please.
-
Although the Mech told me he had (but am not sure) clean the fuel injector a week ago.
-
Good news friend..... I took it to a new mechanic and he change one of the injector and the car got fix. Thanksssssss.
One more issue please. When I start the car, it dies immediately but if I don't want it to die, then i have to press the gas pedal for some secs to stable. Please what to do. Sacanner says no code.
-
I have the same problem after replacing all six spark plugs and coils. I erase the P1320, but it will come back the next time I drive the car. The new coil is aftermarket though.
-
Sometimes the problem is the aftermarket coil. Some aftermarket coils have different voltage drop values than the OEM coils.
-
I have a 1999 nissan pathfinder, my mechanic did a check and the codes: P1320, P0325, and P0138 came up. The car has been stalling lately. Last year when it stalled the distributor was replaced, my dad say it may have been rebuilt. Last month a mechanic changed the ignition switch. Just a few days ago my dad cleaned residue out of the engine that came from the fuel and also changed the fuel filter. The dar has been running so far, but I would like to know if one of the codes is likely to cause to tge car stalling. Also, which one of the codes should I fix first? Also, the car has a cracked radiator. Please give me some insight as to what to do.
-
Neither the P0325 or P0138 will cause the engine to stall. The P1320 code can cause the engine to stall, but it's not common. Out of the 3 codes, I suggest stating by fixing the P1320, but the cracked radiator should be fix first.
-
Although the crankshaft position sensor could trigger the code, it's very unlikely that the problem is the sensor. Usually the ignition coils is the most common problem for the P1320 code, and aftermarket coils are known to trigger the code.
-
2010 t31 x trail 2.5 engine will start then stalls p1320 code.have replaced cam and crank sensors and all coils.
-
How to get spark in the pencil coils when getting p1320. Cool park new,cam and crank also new.
-
2000 nissan maxima with p0300 and p 1320 codes. multiple misfires. Am I changing out all 6 coils or is there a way to determine which coils are bad?
-
There is, but unfortunately it's not easy and requires and oscilloscope. From my experience most of the times you'll find 2-3 bad coils and then couple of months later another coil, so we usually recommend replacing all the coils.
-
I figured I would have to replace them all. The back side ones are a stone bitch.
-
In case you need the instructions:

Check engine oil level. If too high (overfilled) it can cause P1320. I suspect it splashes oil on crankshaft position sensor and generates the code.
-
i have a 97 nissan maxima i changed plugs and coils aftermarket. im getting the p1320 code i understand the issue of using aftermarket parts (now) but i changed the condenser sensor and still the same code. any advice how to fix without having to pay an arm and a leg for nissan coils.
-
is there any way to fix that with out having to get nissan coil?
-
Not all the aftermarket coils are bad. For example the Denso or Bocsh are good brands.
-
pls Auto I get p0340 and P1320 Nissan pathfinder 201 model if I starting the Engine will starting but later the jeep will stall sometime if I park in the car park if I star the Engine there will stay like 2 or 3 min the Engine will off back and if am driving on the road the Engine will off if I star back the Engine will star pls what is the problem help me fix it
-
Sounds like you may have a problem with the camshaft position sensor. Replace the camshaft position sensor.
-
Auto help me with this code Nissan pathfinder 2001 model i get p1320 nd p0340 if i starting the car like 1min to 2 min the car will stall after the car stall if i start it again the car will start backj sometime if am Drive on the road if i slow dan the car will stall i got ur reply message but what can i do to fix it may be you still won't me to replace the camshaft position sensor, pls Auto i need your reply to help me fix it pls and if you won't me to replace the camshaft position sensor pls help me locat it position A sensor for nissan pathfinder 2001 model

Good news, I have 2000 maxima ,show misfire and p1320 and po301 I change all coil and plugs.coils are aftermarket one.Car run very smooth like new. Only p1320 still there I drive it despite the code more then 6 months(6000 miles)so far no problems. Inspection will be next year. Do you think it will pass the inspection in nj? It only need to pass emission.
-
It wont pass the smog with the P1320 code. If the engine runs OK, then the problem is more than likely the ignition coils.
-
The AM coils has 6k ohm and oem coil has 1.5 k ohm. It seems works ok. You said that it only has p1320 code and no other problems then your second answer said that there are “ more then likely the ignition coil” problems. Then why can not pass smog test?It seems function ok. Do you think drive with this code in my condition will harm the car? Thanks your response.
-
From my experience, if there are no other engine problem (e.g. engine misfiring) but you have the P1320 code, then the problem is usually faulty or aftermarket ignition coils
-
I know those coils not designed same as oem but perform the same functions? Then my questions is: any harm to use them? Why fail the smog test? Just because the code show?
-
1. Yes, aftermarket coils do perform as the oem, but unfortunately it will trigger the P1320 ode due to the high risistance.
2. As far as I know there is no harm, other than the code.
3. As far as I know if the engine light is ON, then it will immediately fail the test. The test center should not even test the vehicle if the engine light is ON (Some do test just to charge, and the make them comeback) -
Thank you very much for your clear answer. I did ask same question to some so called expert, they don’t know or not willing to give clear answer. You are a real expert and a awesome one. You should get pay for your time not free!

This post really helped me a lot! Have a 2000 Sentra that has had problems for over 6 months. Started having lots of problems when we had a very cold spell in December and ended up replacing the ignition coils and it solved the problem except for the dreaded P1320 error. Been fighting it for a while and after reading this bought a set of Denso coils. What a difference!! cleared all error codes and runs like new again. Wish I would have known what I do now before buying the aftermarket coils.
I did some shopping around and found the Denso's for a little over $50 each. Could have got them for a little less, but needed to get it running well again so my son can get to work.(don't want to do anything to get in the way of him getting to work!) :-)
I had some doubts, but not anymore!

Soy mecanico y que lo que busco para salir de dudas me encanta auto codes ok. Gracias.

Hi there,
I have a Nissan xtrail T30, QR30 and the code p1320 keep showing even after changing all the coils, spark plug, crankshaft position sensor and ECM. But still the same. Need help.
-
The P1320 code on your Nissan X-Trail T30 indicates an Ignition Signal Primary Circuit Malfunction. Since you've replaced coils, spark plugs, crankshaft sensor, and ECM, focus on these areas:
- Wiring & Connectors: Inspect ignition coil harness for damage, corrosion, or loose connections. Check continuity with a multimeter.
- Ignition Control Module (ICM): Test or replace if external to the ECM.
- ECM Ground: Ensure grounds are clean, tight, and rust-free.
- Crankshaft & Camshaft Sensors: Verify signals and inspect sensor wiring/connectors.
- Ignition Timing: Monitor with a diagnostic tool for abnormalities.
- Intermittent Wiring Issues: Perform a wiggle test to detect faults under vibration or heat.
- ECM Programming: Ensure the ECM is correctly programmed and functional.
