I have a 2002 Ford Explorer. I have po775. Alot of trans shops will tell you to rebuild the trans, this is a false answer. The only way that you would have to perform a rebuild is if the trans has a broken or severly worn band(s).you will not get anymore life out of the brass inserts than that of the aluminium bore. The cause can be as simple as a fluid and filter change. If its a servo then you can order a modified set from a company( i dont have the name handy but you can google it) that has O rings on the shaft. If you have some decent mechanical ability you can do it yourself without pulling and tearing down the trans. You can also order the solenoid pack online and pull the pan and replace the pack as part of the fluid & filter change. After that a quick band adj and you'll be good to go.i am a certified 34 year ford tech.
