The P0500 code is for the "Vehicle Speed Sensor" which refers to the "Vehicle Speed Signal" sent from the ABS Control Module to the Engine Control Module (ECM) .
Each "Wheel Speed Sensor" (Also known as ABS Speed Sensor) sends a signal to the ABS Control Module, the ABS Control Module process the information and sends the information to the ECM. The ECM receives the information as "Vehicle Speed Sensor".So, if you get the P0500 code, the problem could be either one of the ABS Sensors or the ABS Control Module.
