Sonata after been engine running for about 5 min . No acceleration even with pedal to the floor

2010 Hyundai Santa Fe. Happened twice in the last month. Engaging the cruise control at highway speeds or 'getting on' the accelerator when the engine is relatively cold - only been on the road maybe 3-5 miles. Lights come on and gas pedal becomes non-responsive. Have to make evasive maneuvers and pull over. Put vehicle in park, shut off and it immediately restarts. Code clears itself after 40-50 miles of driving. VERY odd.
