Code P0513 RAM Description

The SKIS (Sentry Key Immobilizer System) enhances vehicle protection by immobilizing it and preventing the engine from operating unless a valid Key Fob is detected. For the engine to start, the Key Fob must be inside the passenger compartment.

When combined with certain market and sales code versions of the Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS), the SKIS includes an Electronic Steering Lock (ESL). This lock secures the steering column unless a valid, encoded Key Fob is present within the passenger compartment.

The Key Fobs are linked exclusively in transponder mode to the RF Hub.

A Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will be set if the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) detects an invalid key, a key-related fault, or if the seed request from the RF Hub is invalid, incorrect, or mismatched for the PCM.
