I have a 1998 Toyota Camry 2.2L automatic transmission, yesterday i took my pregnant wife to the hospital it started to rev as i pressed the gas pedal but it would not accelerate. Threw it in park, turned it off for about 10min then started the car. It drove for about a mile and i got stuck at a red light car would rev but not move. Parked at a church then check engine light came on i scanned it for codes and P0500 came on which was (Speed Sensor A) i replaced the whole sensor assembly today but car still does not run cleaned out the connectors with a proper Electrical Connector Cleaner. any ideas on what other step am i missing? i do hear a humming sound coming from that area when car is running.
