The fuel level sensor is not always part of the fuel pump assembly. Some parts stores supply the pump with the sensor but a lot do not. Most likely you will have to have the tank pulled again and have the level sensor replaced. Fun thing is that it is mounted on the fuel pump assembly. I would ask the people servicing the vehicle if indeed a sensor was installed with the pump assembly. If not then I would argue that they are at fault and should eat the labor to install a new level sensor.

Code P0463 replace the fuel sensor which is located in the fuel tank. In my case it is a Silverado 2500 HD. the easiest way to replace the sensor is to remove the bed to access the fuel tank.

So, I rented a computer from AutoZone, and this is the only code it gave me. Somehow I don't think this is the reason my truck won't start. This is probably why my fuel gauge goes back and forth from empty to full, when the tank is full.
