When the rotor turns after starting the engine, the magnetic flux changes in the semiconductor are converted into pulsing signals to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). If an abnormal amount of pulsing signals from CMP Sensor 'B' are detected, the PCM detects a malfunction and stores a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC).
