Code C2502 Description

Any time the key is on and the engine has been running for at least 4 seconds the Drivetrain Control Module (DTCM) continuously runs a diagnostic check on the Transmission Control Module (TCM), Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) Module, Electric Power Steering (EPS) Module and the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to ensure that the Modules can honor any Terrain Selector Switch request. If the DTCM receives a message from one of these other modules indicating that they have had a failure, the DTCM forces the terrain selector switch into AUTO mode and will disable the terrain selection option to the customer. This DTC is set in the DTCM to inform the Technician that the AWD system is working properly but the driving mode can not be selected because another system in the vehicle has failed.
