I have a 09 gmc sierra crew cab 4x4 diesel. I keep getting a brake light and a abs light then the check eng. light comes on. Trans. go's in to safe mod. the code is C0055, I all so have a code P0571.

I can't find any information about the C0055 code in the factory service manual, but the P0571 is for the Cruise Control/Brake Switch, which will set either or all the warning light you mention.

I replaced the brake switch today did a road test cruise control now works great. Bought a rear wheel speed sensor that goes in the transmission transfer case will see what happens with this? But will let you know. Thanks for your help.

Replaced the rear wheel speed sensor road tested in a bout a mile or so the lights safe mode again now I guess the as to relearn? I will be chasing wires.

It's possible that the scanner you have is showing the C0055 code instead of the C005A, then the problem is not the speed sensor on the transmission, but one of the sensors on the wheels.

I just did road test after chasing wires and checking cannon plugs so far no safety mode on trans. Next is the brakes I’am going change the rotors.
