Code B2971 Description

The adjustable pedal memory function utilizes a Hall-effect position sensor. The Driver Seat Module (DSM) supplies a signal feed circuit to the position sensor and a reference signal return circuit. Each position sensor sends a signal voltage back to the DSM used to monitor the position of the adjustable pedals. The signal voltage from the adjustable pedal Hall-effect sensor to the DSM provides an indication to the DSM of whether or not the adjustable pedal motor is stalled. When the driver sets a pedal position in the DSM, it stores the value of where the adjustable pedals are located using a time frame of motor operation. When the driver requests a return to a pedal position in memory, the DSM operates the adjustable pedal motor until the adjustable pedals output matches the time frame stored in memory. If the memory function is not utilized, the adjustable pedal switch can also be used for normal operation of the adjustable pedals system. The DSM receives a voltage reference from the adjustable pedals switch. The DSM interprets this and then operates the adjustable pedals in the commanded direction.
