These modules must be configured when replaced as part of a repair procedure. Configurable modules should not be exchanged between vehicles since the settings are unique to each vehicle. Failure to configure a new module may result in improper operation. When the ignition is turned to the RUN position, the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module and the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) share Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) information over the High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN) bus. If the VIN information stored in the ABS module does not match the information transmitted by the PCM, DTC B2900 will set.
