The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) B1983 will set when the voltage is less than 9 volts for 4 consecutive monitoring cycles (1200 milliseconds). DTC B1983 will clear when the battery voltage is greater than 9.5 volts for 4 consecutive monitoring cycles or when scan tool is used. A history DTC will clear after 50 consecutive ignition cycles if conditions for fault no longer exist.
