Code C1115 Nissan Description

When the sensor rotor rotates, the magnetic field changes. It converts the magnetic field changes to current signals (rectangular wave) and transmits them to the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Actuator and Electric Unit (Control Unit). The ABS Actuator and Electric Unit monitors the ABS Wheel Sensor. The ABS Actuator and Electric Unit sets the OBDII code when the ABS Wheel Sensor is not to factory specifications.

Discuss the causes and fixes for C1115 Nissan OBDII Code

  • 2007 NISSAN TITAN CODE C1115,CAR SHAKES WHEN BRAKE ANS ABS LIGHT IS ON

  • Start by checking the wheel ABS sensors. Unfortunately the doesn't indicate which sensor is the bad one, so you have to check all the sensors.

  • 2010 Nissan Sentra S. Replaced rear wheel bearing. ABS and brake light came on after install. Replaced ABS sensor to wheel bearing I replaced (thinking I may have damaged it). Light still on and hooked up to code reader and got error code C1115. Any help would be appreciated.

  • You may have not installed the wheel magnetic encoder properly during the wheel bearing installation or there is grease on top wheel magnetic encoder causing an improper ABS sensor reading.

One more thing, if you replaced the hub and bearing assembly, there is also a chance that you got the wrong hub.

  • Thanks for responding so quickly. The wheel magnetic encoder is within the hub I installed so I did not have any additional install with this. I contacted my part dealer (Advance Auto Parts) and they verified I ordered the correct part. The sensor was brand new so it would not have any grease. I am questioning if the magnetic encoder within the hub is defective?

  • I am questioning if the magnetic encoder within the hub is defective?

I have not seen that problem.

The next step is checking the ABS sensor signal with a scan tool. Unfortunately, not all the scan tools can read the signal and you can't do it with a volt or ohm meter. You may have to have a shop check that for you.
