Code B2009 Description

The transceiver module communicates with the Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Key. The control functions are contained in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The PCM carries out all of the PATS functions such as receiving the identification code from the PATS key and controlling engine and transaxle enable. The PCM initiates the key interrogation sequence when the key is inserted in the ignition switch and when the ignition switch is turned to the RUN or START position. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will set if the received data does not match what was expected.
