Code B1982 Description

Battery voltage is supplied to the Body Control Module (BCM). BCM utilizes voltage to perform all BCM functions. BCM constantly measures this battery voltage signal. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) B1982 will set when battery voltage measurement is greater than 15.5 volts for 4 consecutive monitoring cycles (1200 milliseconds). DTC B1982 will clear when the battery voltage is less than 15 volts for 4 consecutive monitoring cycles or when scan tool is used. A history DTC will clear after 50 consecutive ignition cycles if conditions for fault no longer exist.
