Setting a camshaft position code can be the reason for the no start, P0340 the engine would still start it won't run right, but it would still start,

Ford Explorer Camshaft Position Sensor LocationHere it would look like, if you stand in front of the engine, it would be on your right-hand front, keep in mind a lot of no start when it comes to Explorer, you may want to do this when you turn the ignition switch to the run position you would here the relay clicking and the fuel pump turning on. if you don't go to the fuse relay box and wiggle the relay you can do this with the key on once they start clicking on trying to start the engine
