P2096 Target A/F (airfuel ratio) feedback system too lean

With P0138 this mean there is a improper connection for P0138 , Circuit high happens when there is a failed connection look at the connection of sensor 2 is it plug in, nothing interfering with it, you have a bad connection with sensor 2 which is the downstream or catalytic monitor sensor, What the ECM looks for is open circuit, short circuits, grounds ,rationality, and this will code right away, 10 to 15 minutes or even less. As for P2096 this is a condition of the engine not a sensor, There no exhaust leak prior to the upstream 02 sensor ? no MAF (mass airflow) air duct leak, Mazda produced a TSB about P2096 code condition, TSB # 01-024/13 titled MIL on P2096 set. What the TSB talk about is to reprogram the PCM, Just to let you know your bad gas has nothing to do with P2096 setting, Unfortunately this code condition has already been a problem, Here a sample article:
