Was driving in my 2006 Mustang GT with the 5R55S auto, car has 202,051 miles on it. Was driving went from stop at yield sign rolling at maybe 5 MPH went 3/4 throttle shifted car manually from first, second, third, and into to drive. After I shifted to drive the car immediately shifted back to third hit the red line and shifted back to fourth then fifth like normal, drove maybe 5 mins with cruise control set at 75 MPH no problems, got into turning lane, again no problems upon slowing down, came to a stop maybe a mile after I turned from the turning lane, still no hard shifts, car wasn't acting funny, came to a stop and turned like normal with maybe 1/4 throttle, car would barely move and was jumping like a manual that's started out in the wrong gear, pulled over put car in park and back to drive, same thing, pulled it to first drove fine, shifted to second and drove fine put it in drive and it jumped and revved high when throttle was pushed, got to where I was going and parked had no reverse and wouldn't move forward unless in first gear, checked codes was given P1700 and an EVAP code, cleared codes EVAP code went away but P1700 didn't, also car has to be jumped off to even start and was acting like there was a draw on the battery the day the trans issue started when I turned it on to help put it on the tow truck.

Best answer
P1700 Transmission intermediate failure

This condition you have is more of a internal mechanical problem with the transmission, and if you only have 1st gear this confirms the problem with the direct one-way clutch.
