My 2007 Chrysler 300 has 44,000 miles on it and the Engine light comes on periodically - My mechanic said the error code is P1004 which is "short runner valve". I have to take it to a dealer to get it fixed, and from the looks of past questions, this is quite pricey to have fixed. My question is this - how important is it that I get this fixed right away? Will it cause more damage, or will I start having trouble with my car if I don't get it fixed soon? I'm a single female that knows NOTHING about cars, so appreciate help in knowing if I have to spend the $1000+ now, or if I can wait awhile. I bought this car used a few years ago, so do not have a warranty on it.
