My name is Robert Richert. I own a 2002 Toyota Sienna, 122,000 miles. Lately, but at irregular times, the car stalls when I start it. I have not yet brought the car in to have it checked but this problem has happened three times previously (2005, 2007, 2009) and it was due to the idle speed control valve. Hooman Toyota of Long Beach repaired it each time. I called a service rep about this issue yesterday and have not received an answer as to why this problem continues to reoccur. I do not know of anyone that has experienced this problem one time, much less four times. Is there a technical service bulletin on this issue? I want this problem resolved correctly. Please advise.

We are not aware of any service bulletin for the 2002 Sienna concerning the P0505 code. You should start by adjusting the engine idle. If the problem persist you may have to replaced the Idle Air Control (IAC) Valve.
