When I finish filling gas on my Chevrolet Tahoe, when I try to start it has trouble starting. Why is Thatcher happing

Hi there,

Depending on the code you have, this usually is a problem with a faulty purge control solenoid valve. The solenoid valve opens when the engine is running so the fuel vapors from the charcoal canister can be sucked into the intake. If the valve is sticking open, then when you fill the truck, the fuel vapors can flow into the intake. This essentially causes the engine to be flooded. This results in hard starting after you fill the tank.
